Photron is a Japanese company being worldwide leader in the area of fastcams manufacturing. Fastcams are electronic devices able to recording fast occurring phenomena at a recording speed varying from dozens up to dozens of thousands frames per second (fps). Typical applications of fastcams are car crash tests, airbags deployment tests, pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging, production line fault finding, military test range and ballistic. To each fastcam Photron Files Viever (PFV) and Photron Motion Tools (PMT) software is attached. PFV allows cooperating between fastcam and computer, recording and frame by frame reviewing of recorded material. PMT additionally enables slow motion analysis and calculation of displacement, speed and acceleration. Additionally lenses, filters, rings, monitors, light sets, PCs and laptops adopted for working with fastcams are being offered. BRJ Ltd. also takes care of warranty and post warranty service of delivered fastcams.

Swedish Qualisys AB is manufacturing advanced systems for capturing and analyzing 3D motion. System is based on cameras emitting a beam of infra red light. Small reflective markers are placed on the object or person to be measured. The camera flash infrared light and the markers reflect it back to the camera. The camera then sends data to computer where a 2-dimensional position of the reflective target is computed. By combining the 2-D data from several cameras (at least two) a 3D position is calculated. Distinguish from fastcams, where the view of whole object is recorded, Qualisys system records only its chosen points indicated by markers. Typical applications of Qualisys system is medical diagnostic and research (gait analysis, neurology, psychology), sport, ergonomics, animation, virtual reality, industrial R&D especially in marine industry (testing of model of vessel in naval marine basins).

The best known of German Mikromak product is WINanalyze for automatic motion analysis. It is not demanding (works on ordinary PC or laptop) but strong software enabling motion analysis in 2D and 3D. It analyzes AVI sequences with or without markers. Object tracking happens automatically without a need for inconvenient manual data input. Implemented subpixel accuracy tracking mechanism enlarges accuracy calculation.
